All You Need to Know About Shaving Brushes, Sort of
are essential for a complete shaving experience. A brush is the best way to apply the shaving cream or any other shaving product onto the face prior to the actual shaving. To ensure that you get only the highest quality shaving brushes, you need to familiarize yourself first with the types out in the market. The experience will be much more enjoyable with the right type of brush for your needs and preferences. Exactly how does a shaving brush work? Think of it as a sponge that absorbs water, which would then blend with the shaving cream before it is put on your face. The amount of water the brush absorbs would greatly depend on the type of bristles used, so choosing the material the bristles are made of will be one of the most important decisions you will make. The types of brushes are also divided into the material used for the bristles. Types of Shaving Brushes & the Hair Used Shaving brushes made of badger hair are some of the finest ones available in the market; shaving enthusiasts also claim that these brushes are an absolute luxury to use. The badger hair bristles are extremely soft to the touch, which is important for use on sensitive facial skin. These are also the most durable brushes, superior to the ones using synthetic materials for their bristles. Higher priced than brushes made of other materials, these brushes are still the best ones considered by wet shaving enthusiasts. Brushes made from Boar’s hair have a lower water-retention capacity, less than the ones made of badger hair; the smaller amount of water retained by the bristles results in a less effective lather. Boar’s hair bristles often feel prickly and stiff, a far cry from the soft and fine badger hair bristles. Synthetic fiber brushes are available in varying prices and quality, mostly depending on the specific synthetic material used and the durability. Some of these brushes are made purely from nylon; some are mixed with boar hair in hopes of making the brush more usable (which sort of defies the logic of having a synthetic brush in the first place, if you were looking for a vegan option, for example). These brushes are the least expensive kind, although they are also known to be the stiffest and prickliest; they also hold the least amount of water. Users who are allergic to animal hairs would benefit the most from using synthetic fibers. After establishing the different shaving brush types and the various materials used to make them, we can concentrate on the material most preferred by most wet shaving enthusiasts – brushes made with badger hair. These high quality brushes are further classified into the kind of badger hair used.
Types of Badger Hair Used for Shaving Brushes
Silver Tip – these are the hairs from the badger’s neck, considered to be the softest and most luxurious. It is the most expensive kind of badger hair, because of its limited availability. During the colder winter months, the neck hair becomes very light-tipped. Brushes made from silver-tip hair are mostly hand-assembled or handmade. Some manufacturers are known to produce brushes made of a high-end variety, carefully selected two-band, silver-tip hairs: the now defunct Simpsons Manchurian and Plisson High Mountain White.
Super Badger – these hairs are almost like the silver tips, with the super badger brush tips having a silver, almost off-white color. The material is also very soft, almost as luxurious as the silver-tip. Best Badger – these are made from the badger hairs that are found in 20-25% of the animal’s body. The hairs are lighter in color and longer compared to the pure badger hair. Pure Badger – these are dark brown or black in color and are made from a more inferior grade of badger hair, which are from the badger’s underbelly. It is also more identifiable with its darker hair. Some shaving enthusiasts prefer this material for its stiffer qualities. Generally, most of the pure badger brushes are machine-made (i.e. Muhle pure badger shaving brushes). One notable exception is Vulfix, who still make their pure badger brushes by hand. After deciding on the material that you would like for your shaving brush bristles, it is time to look for the brush handle that would work best for you. Before discussing the different materials used for the handle, you should first consider the knot size, which is the diameter of the bristles at the end of the handle; this would give you a clear idea of how big the brush would be against your face. Brushes with a larger knot size would be able to produce more lather, but might pose problems for those with smaller faces. With everything considered, determining the best knot size would still depend on your personal requirements and preferences. Shave Brush Handles Brush handles should be closely considered to make sure you are getting the perfect shaving brush (at least for your personal use). Regardless of the material, the handle should feel perfectly comfortable in your hand, to eliminate or minimize any difficulties when you are maneuvering the brush prior to shaving. Plastic handles are very common nowadays, even in the most expensive shaving brushes. Aside from being a sturdy material which can withstand even the roughest handling, plastic also feels very comfortable when held. Users also encounter fewer problems with plastic handles in the slippery and wet environment of the bathroom, where the shaving is mostly done. Wooden handle brushes are also very versatile, and are also water-resistant. These handles give a more classic look to the shaving brushes, and if cared for properly, can give years of service to the owner. Those who opt to go for wooden handles should be diligent in taking care of them, as wood will weather over time; this process can accelerate if proper maintenance is not done. Metal handle brushes are very sleek and classic-looking. Some of the materials that can be used for shaving brush handles are gold, brass, chrome and nickel. Just like handles made of wood, those made of metal should be properly cleaned and taken care of to maintain their distinctive finish. Metal handles are great for those who want to have a brush with a unique statement; they can also be personalized and given out as presents. The drawback of metal handles is their weight; heavy brushes tend to be more difficult to maneuver. Other unique and exotic handle materials include tortoise shell and ivory, which give the brush a distinctive feel. However, it should be noted that the handle’s material does not affect the quality of the brush when used. You can turn to a number of reliable manufacturers to help you in your quest for the perfect shaving brush. Some of the industry’s most trusted brands include Edwin Jagger, Kent, Simpsons, Shavemac, Omega, Muhle, Plisson and Vulfix; these are the brands most known to wet-shaving enthusiasts from all parts of the globe. Most of these brands can be bought online at their respective manufacturers’ websites, or through merchant sites; both options provide clients with convenient shopping and delivery processes. If you are unsure of what brands to purchase, it would be best to look at the product reviews and testimonials from clients who want to share their views. This is a good way to start weighing the options, as you will get unbiased and straight-to-the-point comments from people who have actually used the products (compared to advertisements that, naturally, just focus on a brand’s positive features). Searching for the shaving brush that answers all your needs may require a considerable amount of time and effort; you may have to try a number of brushes first before discovering what brand or kind fits your requirements perfectly. When you finally find the ultimate shaving brush, expect your wet-shaving experience to be much more fulfilling. Plisson High Mountain White Shaving Brush

Banned Plastic Shopping Bags Turned Into Eco-Hip Handbags by Conserve
Des Moines, Iowa (PRWEB) November 21, 2007
San Francisco became the first U.S. city to ban plastic shopping bags, but a nonprofit organization called Conserve has discovered a way to recycle those banned bags to create fashionable eco-hip handbags. And online retailer Just Nature Skin Care is bringing those European-style handbags to the U.S. market this holiday season to support the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS).
Conserve employs hundreds of underprivileged women in Delhi to collect up to 6,000 discarded plastic shopping bags each day and deliver them back to the production facility. The bags are sanitized, sorted by color, and then arranged in beautiful patterns on a blank canvas. The canvas is fed into a heating unit where the plastic is fused together forming a single, colorful sheet of Handmade Recycled Plastic (HRP).
Fashion designers from London and Paris have created handbag patterns (templates) for the women to cut from the HRP sheets and then sew into stylish, European-style handbags. Conserve supports over 300 impoverished families via this fair trade model. To view the various bag styles and colors, visit www.JustNatureSkinCare.com and click on Planet Charity
In addition to supporting Conserve’s environmental work, 100 percent of the profits from handbag sales by Just Nature Skin Care through December 31, 2007 will benefit the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS). TAPS serves as a compassionate resource for U.S. Military families coping with the grief of losing a loved one through active duty.
More than 50 recycled bags are used to make each handbag. The purses are hand-sewn and created from Handmade Recycled Plastic, so no two bags are exactly alike. Only 100 handbags per day are produced.
Online retailer Just Nature Skin Care has teamed up with Conserve to offer the ‘eco-hip’ handbags as part of a “Green Holiday Season Charity” event. The partnership builds on Just Nature Skin Care’s commitment to nature and giving back to the community.
“We saw the eco-friendly handbags as a positive reminder of how each of us can make a difference when it comes to the environment,” says Barbara Miller, Marketing Manager with Just Nature Skin Care. “And when it comes to making a difference, the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors rises to the top. TAPS is a remarkable organization and the assistance it provides to military families has never been more important.”
Conserve Handbags are available through the Just Nature Skin Care web site under Planet Charity.

Shopping For a Hair Removal Cream: 3 Things You Cannot Afford to Ignore
The hair removal cream is probably one of the most commonly used cosmetic products in today’s world, as it offers a way through which one can conveniently get rid of hair growing where it is unwanted (someone called it ‘weed hair’) in a short period of time, yet very thoroughly too.
In response to the popularity of the hair removal cream as a cosmetic product, more and more brands of it are coming up with every passing day, and with each claiming to be the very best there ever was in terms of hair removing aids. Obviously, this proliferation of hair removal cream brands (where each claims to be the very best) has led to confusion on the part of buyers, who are keen to get the very best there is in terms of hair removal creams, but who are also not in a position to go about trying out the various hair removing cream brands to find out which is the best and then stick with it. All this has had the ultimate effect of leading to many people wanting information as to what to look for (and what to look out for) when shopping for a hair removal cream – information which has unfortunately not been very forthcoming for most people who actually need it.
1) Now one thing you can simply not afford to ignore when shopping for a hair removal cream is the ingredients that go into the making of the said hair removing cream. It is, after all, these core ingredients of the hair removal cream which in turn determine the effects and side effects of the hair removal cream. It is not for nothing that all ethically made hair removing creams (as indeed all products) have a list of ingredients printed on their packaging. This information is meant for you as the user. The least you can do, before purchasing any hair removal cream, is to take note of what ingredients have been employed in making it, conduct some basic research into what their effects and potential side effects are – and then see whether they are thing you would willingly subject yourself to. In this respect, of course, it is important to take notice of the fact that you are not likely to come across any one hair removal cream ingredient that is absolutely side effect free, so all you can do is to choose the ‘best of many evils’ and make it your choice of a hair removing cream.
2) The second thing you cannot afford to overlook when shopping for a hair removal cream is its mechanism for working, that is, how it makes the hair removing effect possible. It is not enough that a hair removal cream claims to get rid of all hair growing where it is not wanted, you also need to know how it actually gets this done (also called the pharmacokinetics of the product in case it is a pharmaceutical formulation) , and how long you can expect its effects to last. These too, are things you can learn by examining the hair removing cream’s ingredients carefully.
3) Finally, the third thing you may not afford to overlook when shopping for a hair removal cream is its price-value proposition – that is, what value it offers to justify whatever price it comes at. While it would not necessarily be in you best interests to go for the cheapest product, it wouldn’t be either advisable for you to go for an expensive product just for the prestige of it, without examining what it has to offer to justify the extra price.
I have tried several hair removal products including cream. I found to be product for my hair.
Shopping For a Hair Removal Cream – Top Three Features to Look For
Have you found yourself with some unwanted hair which you feel that you have to enlist the help of a hair removal cream to get rid of? Well, you are not alone, because any hair growing where it is unwanted can be a greatly distressing problem; and the nature of some of this hair is such that you cannot quite get rid of it by shaving only; hence the need to resort to aids like hair removal creams for better quality and more sustainable results.
In response to the needs of the numerous people who find themselves battling with unwanted hair problems, a considerably high number of hair removal creams have in turn come up – each offering its own array of alluring promises in a bit to capture a reasonable market share. People who get to use the different hair creams available confess to having different experiences with the products, with some swearing that the hair removal cream they got to use exceeded their expectations, and with some at the other end swearing that the hair removal cream they got to use turned out to be ineffective – or outright harmful.
As it turns out, all hair removal creams -as indeed most things in life – don’t come equal. Some are superior to others in certain respects; meaning that whenever you go out shopping for a hair removal cream, you should not only be on the lookout for a ‘just’ a hair removal cream; but also a good hair removal cream.
One of the criteria that go into determining what is and what is not a good hair removal cream is its speed of working (that is, how fast it delivers results). The best hair removal creams at the moment do offer instant results; though you should be wary of hair removal creams that promise instant results – but then fail to deliver on the promise. The best way to gauge the effectiveness of the different hair removal creams in this respect is to check out what the experiences of the different people who have gotten to use them have been like.
Another criteria that goes into determining what is and what is not a good hair removal cream is the cream’s side-effect threshold. Although most makers of hair removal creams claim that their products are absolutely side effect free, the truth of the matter is that every hair removal cream – as indeed any chemical formulation – has some potential for side effects, so that the best you can do is to check out what the various ingredients used in making the cream are; what their potential side effects are, and what their potential (probabilities) for side effects are – before opting for any particular product.
Comfort of use is yet another important feature you need to look at in each hair removal cream you consider investing in. After all, you don’t want a hair removal cream whose usage is a real pain. Thankfully, in this day and age, we have hair removal creams whose use is absolutely pain free, and these should be your first choice whenever possible.
With so many hair removal cream in the market, its tough to select the cream. However as per recent survey, cream is one of the best in the market.
4 Things to Keep in Mind When Shopping For a Hair Removal Cream
If you have found yourself in need of a hair removal cream, and are going out shopping for one, you may find a checklist of things to keep in mind on your shopping venture handy. After all, haven’t we heard of cases about people who purchase formulations in the name of hair removal creams, only for the formulations so bought to turn out to be utterly ineffective, or even harmful?
1) Well, then, the first thing you need to keep in mind, as you go shopping for a hair removal cream is that not everything marketed as a ‘hair removal cream’ is indeed one. Some are outright scams. Be sure to check out the ingredients that go into the making of every product you consider buying, and ensure that they are substances that can really help in hair removal. But beware, that unscrupulous guys have been known to list false ingredients – hence the need to ensure that you are dealing with reputable manufacturers first, people who wouldn’t falsify an ingredient list, before even starting to interrogate the ingredients.
2) The second thing you need to keep in mind, as you go shopping for a hair removal cream is that price is not always a good guide to the ‘goodness’ or otherwise of a product. There is this mistaken believe, among some people, that the best products are the those that are sold for the highest prices, you know, the ‘big brand’ products. The most expensive pieces of jewelry and designer outfits may indeed be the best, because of the prestige factor, but in chemical formulations like hair loss creams, most expensive is not always the best. Herein lies the need to look at a product, what it is made of, what its efficacy rates are and so on – rather than just looking at its price- in deciding whether it is a ‘good’ product or not.
3) The third thing you need to keep in mind, as you go shopping for a hair removal cream is that the products don’t always work for everyone: different people react differently to different chemical formulations. You may have to go on a ‘trial and error’ shopping, before you finally come across a product that actually works for you. If a particular hair removal cream does not work for you, don’t go ‘defaming’ it, saying that it doesn’t work. It could just that your body didn’t react as well as it was supposed to, to that particular hair loss cream.
4) The fourth thing you need to keep in mind, as you go shopping for a hair removal cream is the fact that hair removal creams are potentially hazardous chemical formulations. As you any one hair removal cream, be sure to check out what its instructions for use are (and ask questions where you are not very clear). Then follow the instructions keenly, keeping in mind that these are not just ordinary creams. It is also in your best interests to know what the potential side effects are, and what you can do to minimize the chances of your falling victim to those side effects.

How Good are You at Natural Skin Care Shopping?
Before you start buying products from a “so-called” natural skin care company, there are a few things that you need to know. Many of us are trying to avoid toxins, allergens and irritants. So, natural skin care shopping has become more common-place. But, you cannot rely solely on company claims, if you want the safest ingredients.
For example, the ZIA natural skin care company makes a daily moisturizer with several sunscreens and an SPF rating of 15. First of all, major health organizations have warned that relying solely on sunscreen is not the best way to prevent skin-cancer. You need to avoid overexposure, wear protective clothing and use a broad spectrum zinc oxide sun-block on exposed areas.
Second, some of the sun screening compounds have been shown to promote free radical damage to DNA within the cells, which makes them probable carcinogens. One of them, oxybenzone, is included in the ZIA product.
Third, the daily use of sunscreen may contribute to vitamin D deficiencies, which are now prevalent among the elderly. So, when you are doing your natural skin care shopping, the best solution is to look for ingredients that prevent and repair free radical damage. Sunscreens are not really beneficial for that purpose. Antioxidants are.
A recent survey conducted by the US FDA showed that most people believe that a natural skin care company must use all-natural ingredients. That may or may not be true. The FDA has been unable to enact legislation that would define the term “natural”. So, there are no existing regulations for US companies. The term may mean anything or nothing at all.
That makes natural skin care shopping harder for the average consumer. The term “hypoallergenic” is also unregulated. It does not mean that the product does not contain known allergens. Even naturally occurring ingredients can cause allergic reactions. The most common allergens are concentrated fragrances derived from plants.
When you do some natural skin care shopping, you will often see the term “natural-fragrance” or “essential oil” listed on the label. A small amount, for use as a perfume, is fine, but creams and lotions should be free of added fragrances.
The term “essential oil” can be misleading. Essential fatty acids are often found in plant and vegetable oils. But, the phrase essential oil is used to refer to fragrances distilled from plants and concentrated to convey the “essence” or aroma of the plant. When applied directly to the skin, that kind of “essential oil” can cause redness and irritation.
There is a really good natural skin care company in New Zealand. Thanks to the internet, people all over the world can order their products. They contain all-natural ingredients, including essential fatty acids, not concentrated essential oil.
Natural skin care shopping can be risky with other companies. The FDA recommends that consumers test all products on a small area, before continuing use. I suggest you look for the New Zealand natural skin care company. Even customers with very sensitive skin have been satisfied.

Natural Skin Care Shopping Made Easy Through 4 Simple Rules
With more and more people flocking towards natural skin care shopping the market is flooded with N number of products. There are so many products available in the market that at times the process to choose the best one becomes really frustrating.
Lets explore 4 simple rules to make natural skin care shopping a piece of cake for you.
Rule 1: Avoid all chemicals and synthetic ingredients This is the simplest rule to follow it doesn’t require you to be a scientist. All you need to do is take a look at the ingredients label. If the label consists of any chemical name like Mineral oil, Parabens or Alcohols then avoid such products. Such products are not only harmful for your skin but they definitely have some or the other side effect too.
Rule 2: Look for Ingredients that are natural. It is obvious that natural products will have natural ingredients — when you read the ingredient label keep a watch on constituents like Avocado Oil, Grapeseed Oil, Active Manula Honey, Cynergy TK etc. All these are active ingredients that can make your skin look more young, smooth and soft.
Rule 3: Do some research on the ingredients. Its easier said than done. Before you any product you must spend some time on the internet researching about the ingredients. Sometimes the information on the ingredients label can be misleading.
For instance there is an ingredient called Manuka Honey. You will find many companies and people talking about it. Manuka Honey is good but not many people know that there is something called Unique Manuka Factor that makes it Active. Active Manuka Honey is better than the normal one because it has better anti inflammatory properties and it rejuvenates the skin from inside. So it is important to look for Active Manuka Honey and not for Manuka Honey.
Rule -4: Follow the trend Do Online shopping Recent studies have shown that there is a shift in shopping trend more and more people are shifting towards it because there are numerous advantages. The biggest advantage that you get in online shopping is that you get products at a reduced price. Because such companies get rid of the supply chain and deliver the product directly to your doorstep. You can also visit the website of companies, read detailed information about their products, company policies, customer support and there is much more information that you do not get in the grocery stores. So make the wise choice and online.
Natural skin care shopping is not at all a burden if you are armed with the right kind of information. And it can be really frustrating if you keep groping in the dark. Choice is yours be savvy, smart products and live happy.
